Level 2 home EV chargers, professionally installed. We size the circuit, run the wire, install the charger, and handle panel upgrades when needed. Most installs done in half a day.
Charging an EV from a standard 120V outlet (Level 1) gets you about 4 miles of range per hour — fine for occasional use, terrible for daily driving. A Level 2 charger on a 240V dedicated circuit gives you 20-40 miles of range per hour, fully charging most EVs overnight. ABC Electric installs Level 2 EV chargers across central Kentucky.
The install is straightforward when your panel can handle it. We run a dedicated 40-, 50-, or 60-amp circuit from the main panel to your garage or driveway, install the charger (or the 14-50 outlet if you bring a charger that uses one), and test it. Most installations take 3-5 hours, with the price varying mostly based on the wire run distance and any drywall/exterior work needed.
If your panel is at capacity — and most 100A panels are — we may need to do a service upgrade or install a load management device. We always do a load calculation up front so you know exactly what is involved. We work with all major chargers (Tesla, ChargePoint, JuiceBox, Wallbox, Grizzl-E, Emporia) and we are happy to advise on which charger fits your situation if you have not bought one yet.

Yes. EV charger installations require a permit in Kentucky. We pull it. The cost is included in our quote; the inspection is also included.
Level 1 charging just needs a standard outlet (which most garages already have). Level 2 is what we typically install — that is the dedicated 240V circuit. We can advise on what makes sense for your situation.
You have three options: panel upgrade (most common), service upgrade if your service is undersized, or a load management device that automatically reduces EV charging when other loads are high. We model all three for you.
